New arrest in shooting death of ‘good Samaritan’ Yosif Al-Hasnawi /Link

Hamilton police say another arrest has been made in the shooting death of Yosif Al-Hasnawi.

Police arrested Dale Burningsky King, 19, in Hagersville around 4:30 p.m. An unidentified female was also arrested and charged as an accessory after the fact.

Police had been searching for King, who faces a second-degree murder charge for several days. They recently released new photos of King in the back of taxi, warning the public he had changed his appearance.

James Matheson, 20, was previously arrested and charged with accessory after the fact to murder.

Homicide unit Det. Sgt. Steve Bereziuk confirmed the new arrest and said he will provide an update on the case later tonight.

Al-Hasnawi was shot last Saturday after trying to stop two men harassing an older man on Main Street East near the Al-Moustafa Islamic Centre where he had been taking part in a religious celebration.

    More to come.
